J.B. Hunt to pay 40-cent quarterly dividend

Lowell-based carrier J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. announced Thursday (Oct. 20) it will pay a cash dividend of 40 cents per share on Nov. 18 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 4. The dividend is the same as the past three quarterly dividends that were paid in August, May and February.

In the third quarter, J.B. Hunt beat expectations for earnings and revenue. Third-quarter earnings rose by 34.8% to $269.38 million from $199.82 million in the same period last year. Revenue increased by 22.1% to $3.83 billion from $3.14 billion.

Shares of J.B. Hunt (NASDAQ: JBHT) were trading Thursday at $161.40, down $6.56 or 3.9% per share. In the past 52 weeks, the stock has ranged between $153.92 and $218.18.
