Walmart hires new health and wellness compliance exec
Walmart names Howard Hacker as new vice president of health and wellness compliance. He will join Walmart effective Oct. 17, and will report to Matt Miner, global chief ethics and compliance officer.
Hacker previously worked as chief compliance officer at Tenet Healthcare where he oversaw the ethics and compliance program and reported directly to the company’s board.
“Howard Hacker brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role and will be responsible for overseeing health and wellness compliance for clinics, pharmacy and optical operations as well as the underlying compliance programs tied to them,” according to an internal memo shared by Madalyn Klika, senior manager with global governance communications at Walmart.
Before his time at Tenet, Hacker spent more than a decade at Pfizer Inc., working as chief compliance counsel of the pharma giant’s global business. He spent time as an attorney specializing in mergers & acquisitions and securities law earlier in his career.
Hacker holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas in Austin.
