Ozarks Community Hospital opens walk-in lab in Bentonville
Gravette-based healthcare provider Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH) recently opened an outpatient lab in Bentonville.
OCH Benton County Lab is located at 907 S.E. Village Loop, Suite 3. Karen Spout, lab services coordinator, said this is the company’s first outpatient lab site.
“We were currently doing services in the Bentonville area,” Spout said. “We just needed a home base. We currently service nursing homes. I have a traveling processor on-site who travels to nursing homes as well as doing in-lab lab work for walk-ins.”
She said the lab not only provides service to patients of OCH but also to area surgeons and physicians. She noted a staffing shortage has been a significant issue for clinics, and the lab can complete their patients’ lab orders.
“We offer point-of-care services,” she said. “These are tests that we can do in-house, and you get immediate results, such as for flu A and B, RSV, strep, PT/INR and urine drug screens.” She noted the latter is available for area businesses needing employee drug screening.
Following are some of the services the lab provides:
- Traveling phlebotomist to complete off-site tests and blood draws
- Lab supplies
- Web-based system for patient access to lab results
- Staff to schedule off-site services
The lab has three employees and accepts most major health insurance plans, Spout said.
Walk-in and outpatient hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to the OCH website, the healthcare provider also offers outpatient lab services at its Gravette hospital and OCH Evergreen Clinic in Springfield, Mo.
