The Breast Center, A MANA Clinic, will open a clinic with 3D Mammograms at 416 Town Center East in Bella Vista in April 2022. This is the fifth location for The Breast Center, a physician-owned specialty practice based in Northwest Arkansas.

The Breast Center is the first breast cancer screening clinic located in the city of Bella Vista. The medical group also has locations in Fayetteville, Bentonville, Harrison and Springdale.

“Our mission is to provide hope through early detection and personalized care,” said Dr. Britton Lott, a breast imaging physician at The Breast Center. “With early detection, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer is nearly 100%. Early detection means timely annual mammograms to find cancer in its earliest stages.”

The American Cancer Society recommends annual mammograms for women starting at age 40 who are at average risk of breast cancer. The age is much younger for women with family histories of breast cancer or other factors that could raise cancer risks. Some men with a strong history of certain cancers may also benefit from screening mammograms.

MANA said the opening date for the new Bella Vista clinic has not yet been determined. Clinic officials would not disclose the investment, but said the location will have two full-time employees and one part-time worker.

“We are waiting for the 3D mammography machine to arrive and be properly installed and tested,” said Sarah Faitak, director of The Breast Center. “We are already scheduling mammograms at this location starting April 11, but we may open a few days earlier.”

Each year in the United States, about 255,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in women and about 2,300 in men. About 42,000 women and 500 men in the U.S. die each year from breast cancer. Black women have a higher rate of death from breast cancer than White women, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
