Missouri bank’s new branch in Fayetteville officially open
Missouri-based Sterling Bank, a $1.38 billion-asset lender headquartered in Poplar Bluff, opened its new, 16,000-square-foot facility in Fayetteville at 3453 N. Steele Blvd. on Feb. 22.
Sterling Bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sterling Bancshares Inc. The company entered the Arkansas market in 2020 by opening a loan production office at 1607 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville. The office is in leased space and opened on June 1. On Oct. 15 that year, the office started taking deposits and became a full-service branch.
Arkansas native Johnathon Welch of Fayetteville oversees the bank’s market expansion, with assistance from vice president Jordan Patterson and assistant vice president Charles Johnson.
“Sterling Bank is excited to open our new location and really integrate ourselves in the community,” Welch said. “We want to show this area just what the Sterling brand offers.”
Commerce Construction Co. of Springdale built the Fayetteville branch. Crafton Tull (engineer), Case Engineering and Dille Pollard Architecture (design) also worked on the project. Emma Lambeth Designs provided interior design services.
Sterling Bank also has a Rogers branch under construction at the corner of South 52nd and West Magnolia streets. A third location on Walton Boulevard in Bentonville is part of the company’s Northwest Arkansas expansion plans.
Members of the bank’s community board are Welch, Eric Arthur, Dan Cheek, Alan Cole, Dan Ellis, Cory Scott, Holland Weaver and Jay Robbins.
