The Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce hired Mallory Jordan Black as its marketing director. In this role, Black will lead all communication and marketing efforts for the chamber including helping build and share brand awareness for not only the chamber but also the businesses it serves.

Mark Young, President and CEO of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, said Black is a great addition to the team.

“Mallory brings many skills and traits to the marketing director role,” Young said. “Her journalism background paired with her strategic communication skills makes her an asset to our chamber. Being from Northeast Arkansas and working across the area for more than seven years, Mallory has great knowledge of our region and the people and initiatives that keep our area of the state thriving. We’re happy to have her on our team.”

Black is known in the area from her work on KAIT in Jonesboro where she was the morning anchor of Good Morning Region 8 and a multi-media journalist. As a resident of Jonesboro, she has been an active volunteer for the Foodbank of Northeast Arkansas and the Northeast Arkansas Chain Reaction Youth Council.

She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor of arts in broadcast journalism and will soon graduate from Arkansas State University with a master of arts in communication studies.

Black recently spent three years as a marketing and communication specialist at Arkansas State University-Newport where she helped the institution grow its social media followers by more than 100%, while also leading external communication efforts including photography and videography content.
