Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) in Highfill announced Wednesday (Jan. 19) it will offer flights with an Airbus A220 aircraft. On May 6, low-cost carrier Breeze Airways will start providing the flights with first-class seating for its Tampa, Fla., route.

According to Alex English, public relations and marketing specialist at XNA, this will be the first Airbus A220 to provide service at the airport. The aircraft’s seating ranges between 10 and 45 extra legroom seats and 80 standard legroom seats, all in a two-by-three configuration. It also will include between 12 and 36 first-class seats in a two-by-two configuration, featuring 39-inches of seat pitch, 20.5-inches of seat width and other features such as a footrest. All seats include in-seat power and USB ports.

Flights with first-class seating will be offered Monday, Friday and Saturday through mid-September. An introductory fare of $99 to fly first-class runs through Tuesday (Jan. 25).

In May 2021, Breeze announced it would begin to provide three nonstop flights at XNA, including to Tampa, San Antonio and New Orleans.
