Car-Mart opens 153rd dealership

Rogers-based America’s Car-Mart has opened its 153rd dealership, according to a Wednesday (Dec. 1) news release. The new dealership opened Nov. 29 in Norman, Okla.

The new location is the buy here, pay here used car dealer’s 30th dealership in Oklahoma and the second new dealership opening in fiscal year 2022. It will be managed by Jesse Cloud.

“Norman is a great market in Oklahoma, and we’re excited to present the Car-Mart experience to customers in the area,” said President and CEO Jeff Williams. “Our goal is to be a valuable part of the community and make car shopping easy and pain-free. And, as we have done for over 40 years, we are committed to providing quality, used vehicles, as well as flexible financing and exceptional service after the sale.”

The new dealership at 524 N. Interstate Drive will host a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 17 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 18. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

For the second quarter of fiscal 2022, Car-Mart reported earnings for the period ending Oct. 31 increased by 8% to $22.88 million, from $21.18 million in the same period in the previous year. Revenue rose by 29.1% to $288.3 million, from $223.36 million.

Shares of Car-Mart (NASDAQ: CRMT) were trading Wednesday at $98, down 14 cents or 0.14%. In the past 52 weeks, the stock has ranged between $177.45 and $95.95.
