Springdale-based Varsity Automotive Inc. recently opened a Byrider dealership in Fayetteville.

The store at 2920 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. is the franchise owner’s second Byrider location in Northwest Arkansas and the buy-here, pay-here used car dealer’s seventh dealership in Arkansas. Varsity Automotive also owns a Springdale location.

“We are thrilled to be opening the doors of our new Byrider store to the fine people of Fayetteville and nearby communities,” said Leo Albarran, general manager of the Byrider stores in Fayetteville and Springdale.

“It has been an incredible journey to see this project come to fruition from preparing the new sales and finance operations to filling the sales lot with high-quality used vehicles,” said David Hanson, franchise owner of Varsity Automotive. “We can’t wait to meet our future customers.”

A Byrider spokesman said the Fayetteville dealership will have between 10 and 15 vehicles available for purchase at a given time and employ three full-time workers. Hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to a news release, the new location will include a sales team and finance company that will allow customers to buy and finance a vehicle at the store. Customers can receive $10 oil changes at the Springdale location.

The franchisee prepared the Fayetteville store using its partner, Marty White Construction.

According to real estate records, Albarran Hanson Properties LLC of Springdale acquired the store property from PKLJ LLC for $560,000 on May 21. Records show the building was a Eureka Pizza.

Founded in 1989 as J.D. Byrider, the Carmel, Ind.-based company recently rebranded to Byrider and has more than 140 locations in the United States.
