East Arkansas Planning & Development District to hold firefighter grant writing seminar
The East Arkansas Planning & Development District will offer a workshop to assist its communities in applying for this year’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, made possible through funding by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The primary goal of the Assistance to Firefighters grant is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and non-affiliated emergency medical service organizations.
The eight-hour workshop will be held Dec. 2 at EAPDD, located at 2905 King Street in Jonesboro. Those interested in attending should RSVP no later than Nov. 29th by calling our office at (870) 932-3957 or via email at [email protected].
As of this year, over 1,800 awards have been made by FEMA, totaling over $300 million. Funding from this program has helped firefighters and other first responders obtain much needed equipment including protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and other resources needed to protect the public and first responders from fire and related hazards.
The East Arkansas Planning & Development District is a non-profit regional planning agency providing grant writing, administrative, and other technical assistance for economic and community development projects across its twelve-county district.
Counties served by EAPDD include Clay, Cross, Craighead, Crittenden, Greene, Lawrence, Lee, Mississippi, Phillips, Poinsett, Randolph, and St. Francis counties.
