Walmart nabs Nike exec to lead global total rewards
Bentonville-based Walmart Inc. has hired Kim Lupo as senior vice president of total global rewards. This week, Donna Morris, Walmart’s chief people officer, shared the news through an internal company memo.
Lupo’s first day was Sept. 13.
“[Lupo] has a wealth of valuable experience in the compensation, benefits and performance management space, and will be a big asset to our team as we continue to focus on the physical, financial and emotional well-being of our associates,” Morris wrote in a social media post.
Lupo worked for Nike since 2015, where she oversaw global total rewards, operations and people analytics.
“I’m eternally grateful for the amazing colleagues and friends I’ve made at Nike these last several years and am so proud of all we have accomplished,” Lupo wrote on social media. “I am so excited for my next challenge at Walmart, leading compensation, benefits, and well-being. I am very passionate about rewarding associates in meaningful ways that better their lives, [and] am excited to be a part of this inspiring team and the positive impact we’ll make together.”
Lupo has more than 14 years of leadership experience in various divisions, including compensation, benefits, performance management and people operations.
Before working at Nike, Lupo spent more than eight years in compensation leadership roles at T-Mobile.
Lupo said she’ll be relocating this fall from Portland, Ore., to Northwest Arkansas.
