Talk Business & Politics is launching a new award to recognize businesses in Northeast Arkansas.

The award program aims to highlight efforts of businesses, nonprofits and startup operations, as well as their future impact on the Jonesboro metropolitan area and surrounding region. Any business in Craighead, Greene, Mississippi, Crittenden, Poinsett, Jackson, Independence, Lawrence, Sharp, Randolph or Clay counties that meets the criteria below can be nominated.

QualChoice is the sponsor of the 2021 Northeast Arkansas Outstanding Business awards.

Nominations are open at this link and the deadline for receiving nominations is Oct. 8, 2021. There are four categories of businesses that will be honored. They include:

  • Small business category – under 300 employees
  • Big business category – more than 300 employees
  • Startup business category – 3 years or younger
  • Nonprofit category – must have IRS-granted tax-exempt status

Factors for selection of the finalists, which will be made by the editors of Talk Business & Politics, include the success of the business, philanthropic efforts, leadership in the business community, and activities outside the region that reflect well on the region.

“Northeast Arkansas continues to excel in so many phases of business success and leadership. Through the pandemic, natural disasters and the regular course of business, we see area companies setting new standards for the region and the state,” said Roby Brock, TB&P Editor-in-Chief. “We want to recognize these businesses and help highlight them to the rest of Arkansas.”

Winners will be announced in the November issue of NEA Talk Business & Politics and an awards ceremony will be planned later in the month.
