Eureka Springs names Madison Dawson new director of tourism
Madison Dawson has been named director of tourism for the Eureka Springs City Advertising & Promotion Commission (CAPC).
According to a news release, Dawson will oversee tourism development, serving as an advocate for Eureka Springs and the destination’s brand, and further fostering economic impact development for partners. Most recently, she served as the tourism development manager for the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce in Oklahoma.
“Madison is a breath of fresh air, with a wealth of local knowledge and a passion for destination marketing and hospitality,” Jeff Carter, Eureka Springs CAPC chairman, said in a statement. “We are eager to support Madison as she continues to position Eureka Springs as a special, authentic destination for all.”
Dawson holds a degree in hospitality and tourism management from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. She began her career with a hotel management company, advancing through several sales roles and eventually becoming dual director of sales for a Marriott and a Hilton property. Dawson has experience with group and corporate travel, coordinating conventions and events with organizations, and serving as a liaison between vendors and companies.
“The community here is a gem in the Midwest,” said Dawson, who grew up two hours away from Eureka Springs. “I hope to continue showcasing our town as a year-round destination where visitors can tailor their adventure however they wish, with plenty to do outdoors and everywhere, to experience total delight. With breathtaking scenery, delicious cuisine, unique accommodations and intriguing history, we offer something for everyone.”
