Preformed Line Products expanding Rogers plant
Cleveland-based Preformed Line Products Co. (PLP) is seeking approval to expand its manufacturing plant in Rogers.
The company filed a large-scale development plan with city planners indicating a 25% addition to its 325,800-square-foot facility at 2740 S. First St. It describes adding 26,040 square feet of manufacturing space and 56,844 square feet of warehouse space.
The existing plant has 22,800 square feet of office space, 95,968 of warehouse space and 207,032 of manufacturing space.
Founded in 1947, publicly traded Preformed Line Products is an international designer and manufacturer of products and systems employed in the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground networks for energy, communications and broadband network companies.
The company opened the doors to its then 48,000-square-foot Rogers plant in 1969. It’s one of the company’s two domestic manufacturing centers. The other is in Albemarle, N.C.
After any comments or revisions to PLP’s expansion plan, it will go before the city’s planning commission for consideration at a later date. Nabholz Construction and Crafton Tull (site engineer) are working on the project.
A corporate spokesman at PLP declined to answer additional questions about the expansion.
