Cox Communications looking for new top executive in Arkansas

Cox Communications, the largest private broadband company in the U.S., has promoted Curt Stamp to vice president of regulatory affairs. He started that role on May 3 and will be based in Cox’s corporate headquarters in Atlanta.

Stamp previously worked in Fayetteville. Since March 2015, he had been Cox’s Arkansas market leader and vice president of government affairs for the Central Region, overseeing lobbying activities in Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma.

Before he was the Arkansas market leader, Stamp was a director of regulatory affairs for Cox. He was previously a commissioner on the Iowa Utilities Board and has held numerous public policy roles in the telecommunications industry in both the public and private sector for more than 20 years. He has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s of business from Iowa State University and a law degree from Drake University Law School.

Cox has about 300 employees in Arkansas. Spokeswoman Whitney Yoder said the company will begin the backfill process soon, but it will likely take several months before Stamp’s successor is named.
