Fayetteville funeral home operators Scott and Paula Berna have renamed Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers to Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.

The Bernas own two funeral homes in Fayetteville — Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, acquired in 2002, and Moore’s Chapel, purchased in 2010. They bought Stockdale-Moody from Elvis and Jan Moody in April.

“Paula and I care deeply about the Rogers and Bentonville area,” Scott Berna said. “We are honored to serve families in Benton County and the surrounding areas. We will continue to give the same high level of service our families have come to expect.”

Stockdale Funeral Services was founded in 2001 by the Stockdale and Moody families. Elvis and Jan Moody became sole owners in 2010, and the business became known as Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services.

Nelson-Berna Funeral home was originally Nelson’s Funeral Home, founded in the 1930s. Moore’s Chapel is a historic landmark in Northwest Arkansas and has been providing funeral planning and services since 1889.

The Bernas also own Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fayetteville, which was established in 1925.
