Former Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin will return to his banking roots.

First Security Bank announced Thursday (Jan. 28) that Perrin, a former banker, will join the Searcy-based financial institution as Senior Vice President, Business Development for First Security Bank of Jonesboro.

“Harold’s extensive banking background makes him a perfect fit for this position. We are proud to have him on our team,” said Market CEO and President Brad Edwards.

Prior to serving 12 years as Jonesboro mayor, Perrin had an extensive career in banking. He did not run for re-election in 2020 due to a health issue.

Perrin, an ASU alumni, has three additional banking-related degrees from Southern Methodist University, Northwestern University and Louisiana State University. He previously worked for Citizens Bank Jonesboro, First National Bank Batesville, and served as President at both First State Bank Newport and Mercantile Bank Jonesboro.

He also has consulted a broad range of firms on financial matters through a private management company.

Perrin is an active member on the ASU Chancellor’s Cabinet and Arkansas Municipal League. He formerly served as ASU Alumni Association President and was a member of the ASU Board of Trustees.

First Security Bank is the fifth largest state-chartered bank in Arkansas. With 78 community banking centers, it has more than $1.4 billion in total capital and over $6.9 billion in assets.
