Nabholz opens on-site medical clinic in Rogers
One of Northwest Arkansas’ largest construction firms has opened an on-site medical clinic as part of its strategic plan to recruit and retain employees.
Nabholz Construction Corp. opened the 2,500-square-foot clinic Nov. 16 at its corporate campus on North Second Street in Rogers. The clinic offers no-cost, no-deductible primary care to Nabholz employees, their spouses and children at least 2 years old.
Tennessee-based Premise Health, a provider of on-site and near-site primary care clinics for large employers, will operate the clinic. Jayme Mayo, Nabholz’s wellness director, said the company previously used Premise Health shared clinics throughout its corporate footprint.
This is Nabholz’s second on-site clinic for employees. The company opened the first in 2007 at its Conway headquarters. Nabholz employs approximately 1,200 workers, 900 in Arkansas and 350 in Northwest Arkansas.
A nurse practitioner and a medical assistant staff the Rogers clinic, with physician support from a Premise Health clinic in Fayetteville. The Nabholz clinic is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Mayo is a physician assistant who oversees the Nabholz clinic in Conway.
“We’re a self-funded company,” she said. “The more we can control healthcare costs, the more we’re able to invest in our people. Instead of paying for medical expenses. It’s also used for recruiting and retaining the great employees that we have. It’s also part of the culture of taking care of our people and their families. It’s the right thing to do.”
Mayo said the Nabholz clinic will also have bilingual support from Premise Health.
Nabholz generated $295.5 million from its Rogers office in 2019, which ranked No. 1 on the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s annual list of Largest Commercial Contractors published in June.
