J.B. Hunt to pay 27-cent cash dividend

Lowell-based carrier J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. announced Wednesday (July 22) a 27-cents per share cash dividend would be paid Aug. 21 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 7.

Over the past two quarters, the carrier also paid a 27-cents per share cash dividend.

On Thursday (July 16), J.B. Hunt reported earnings fell 8.9% to $121.69 million, or $1.14 per share, in the second quarter, from $133.63 million, or $1.23 per share, in the same period in 2019. The company beat earnings expectations by 31 cents, based on a consensus of 20 analysts. Revenue fell 5.1% to $2.14 billion, from $2.26 billion, and the carrier beat analyst expectations for revenue by $130 million.

Shares of J.B. Hunt (NASDAQ: JBHT) closed Wednesday at $132.16, down 87 cents, or 0.65%. The stock rose Friday (July 17) to a 52-week high of $138.76. In the past 52-weeks, the stock has ranged between $75.29 and $138.76.
