Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin will seek another four-year term. Perrin, a career bank and finance executive, has served as mayor for 12 years after 15 years as a member of the Jonesboro City Council.

“We will kick off the campaign at a future date,” Perrin said. “Right now, my primary concern is leading our community through these uncertain times of COVID-19. In this ever-changing situation, we have new challenges every day. We are working to meet these adversities and help our citizens to recover and prosper.”

The filing period for the mayor’s seat ends in August. The general election is in November.

Jonesboro native Andy Shatley announced through social media earlier this month he will seek the mayor’s office. He is reportedly a physical therapist and a former Major League Baseball player, according to his social media accounts.

“I am running for mayor of my hometown, where I work and where I’m raising my family, on a platform of trust, transparency and teamwork to build our city’s best future,” he said on a social media post earlier this month.
