U.S. Rep. Crawford makes changes to his D.C. staff
U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Jonesboro, has made several changes to his staff in Washington, D.C. Ashley Shelton has been appointed as his legislative director and Kathryn King has been designated as a legislative assistant. Brian Lee has been appointed as a senior policy advisor.
“I am excited to announce the following changes to my staff that will give me the additional bandwidth to work on critical issues facing America’s ag-producers. Each of these individuals have displayed incredible insight in not just agriculture but the needs of farmers, ranchers, and rural Americans,” said Crawford. “I look forward to continuing my work for an industry I am passionate about and that plays a vital role in feeding and clothing the world – American agriculture.”
Shelton’s expanded issue portfolio now includes commodity programs, risk management policy, and crop insurance reform – in addition to her existing portfolio of trade, healthcare, and nutrition.
King’s expanded issue portfolio now includes biosecurity, national security, and agriculture research, in addition to her existing portfolio of rural and economic development.
Lee joined the office this week as a senior policy advisor. Lee is a native Arkansan and graduated from the University of Arkansas. After college, Lee spent time working across Europe, South and Southeast Asia, and South America. He was a Fulbright scholar in Austria through the diplomatic Academy of Vienna, and he has worked in a capacity building with political leaders and groups in local and regional economies. Lee’s portfolio will include foreign agriculture, market access, and ag-producer assistance policy.
