First Security Bank promotes new market leader in Springdale
Searcy-based First Security Bank announced Monday (March 9) Dean LaGrone will assume the role of Springdale market president. He succeeds Mike Morgenthaler, who retired from the position Feb. 25.
LaGrone, a 37-year banking veteran, has been employed by First Security Bank for over 19 years, serving most recently as the bank’s Northwest Arkansas chief lending officer. He worked for First National Bank of Springdale for eight years prior to First Security’s acquisition of the bank in 2001.
“I am very honored to be given the opportunity to lead a group of so many incredibly talented and dedicated bankers,” LaGrone said in a statement. “It is our people who truly define us as a bank — representing us so well in the Springdale community, and making First Security a great place to do business.”
LaGrone serves as a member of the city of Springdale trails committee and the Ozark Roadies. He is also an incoming board member of the Rotary Club of Springdale and a past board member, three-time ambassador of the year, and leadership graduate of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce. LaGrone has also served as a past board member of the Ozark Highlands Trail Association and Arkansas Young Bankers Section of the Arkansas Bankers Association.
He earned his MBA and bachelor’s degree in banking/finance from the University of Arkansas.
