NWACC names new VP of finance, administration
NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville has chosen Arias (Al) Massri as vice president of finance and administration, a position vacated by Debi Buckley who retired in November after nine years in that role.
Massri will oversee the college budgeting, planning, human resources and campus information technology, as well as project management, public safety and risk management and the physical facilities and construction.
“We are delighted to have Massri join the NWACC team. His many years of experience at Missouri University of Science and Technology and Central Louisiana Technical Community College, along with his background, financial and administrative expertise, and teamwork approach are a very good fit for NorthWest Arkansas Community College,” said NWACC President Dr. Evelyn E. Jorgenson.
He was formerly assistant vice chancellor for fiscal service at Missouri University of Science and Technology. There he provided financial leadership and guidance and assisted with the fiscal management and budgets of the campus. He also was responsible for planning, implementing and supervising all operations of the fiscal services department, including accounting, the budget office, the cashier’s office, student loan collections and the campus business management staff.
Also, Massri formerly held finance positions at Central Louisiana Technical Community College as well as Paris Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
He holds a master’s in business administration from Columbia Southern University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Damascus University. Massri is a certified financial consultant in the U.S. and Canada and a member of the Association of Accountants and Financial Professionals in Business.
