FNBC buys land for new banking center in Jonesboro
FNBC Bank, a $520-million asset community bank headquartered in Ash Flat, has announced it will break ground on a new commercial banking center in Jonesboro in 2020. The bank bought 1.3 acres at the corner of Fair Park Boulevard and Race Street.
FNBC opened in Jonesboro, its first office in Northeast Arkansas, in August 2018 as a loan production office, and then as full-service location on Jan. 2, 2019 at 1118 Windover Road.
The bank plans to continue to operate out of its existing location until a temporary facility is established at the new location.
FNBC anticipates breaking ground in the first quarter.
“We have continued to be pleased and excited about our move into the Jonesboro market,” said FNBC President & CEO Marty Sellars. “We have an incredible team of bankers who have deep relationships and a commitment to helping their business clients succeed. We look forward to establishing what we consider to be our branch of the future next year and continuing to build our footprint in Northeast Arkansas.”
Led by Community President Brad Snider, the FNBC–Jonesboro team consists of commercial lenders J.R. Blackburn and Kevin Alpe, commercial relationship specialist Laura McCain and branch manager Debbie Reynolds. Since opening, the Jonesboro office has grown over $40 million in assets.
“Our team is looking forward to welcoming the community into our new office next year,” said Snider. “The new site will provide greater convenience for our current and future clients, and serve as our flagship location for our continued growth in Jonesboro.”
Chartered in 1912, FNBC serves a six-county footprint throughout North Central and Northeast Arkansas. Jonesboro was its 11th location. Since 2015, FNBC has successfully grown assets by more than 50 percent without a bank acquisition or merger.
