Connections: Mike Moore named CEO of Anderson Merchandisers

Texas-based Anderson Merchandisers, a service provider for Walmart Inc., has lured former Walmart executive Mike Moore out of retirement to become the company’s new CEO. He is replacing Bill Lardie, who has been with the company since 1986 and has taken a seat on the company’s board of directors.

Moore retired in January at age 53. He spent three decades with Walmart and retired as executive vice president in charge of the Supercenter format.

“In my years with Walmart, Anderson Merchandisers was absolutely one of the best we worked with, so a chance to work with [Chairman] Charlie [Anderson] and his team and bring new ideas, drive growth and add more great customers was just too good an opportunity to pass up,” Moore said in a statement. “I will, of course, be thrilled to be working with Walmart again.”

Anderson Merchandisers is one of five companies in the industry to have Walmart’s preferred service provider designation, managing supplier displays and other services in more than 4,600 Walmart U.S. stores. The company also won the 2019 Walmart Service Excellence Award.

Moore will remain based in Northwest Arkansas and work from the company’s Bentonville office.
