Through September, NWA home sales up 4.6%
Residential housing market activity in Benton and Washington counties is running slightly ahead of last year’s pace.
According to the latest data, Realtors combined to sell 8,083 homes in the two-county area through the first nine months of the year. That’s 4.6% ahead of last year’s total (7,724) through three quarters.
The data is from the Matrix software platform used by the Northwest Arkansas Board of Realtors (NABOR).
The combined sales volume is up about 10% from last year — $1.89 billion in the first nine months last year, compared with $1.99 billion in the first nine months of 2019.
The average price of each home sale was also up in both counties at the end of 3Q 2019. In Benton County, the average home sale had a value of $253,804, up 6.07% from $239,275 in the same period last year. In Washington County, the average home sale price through September was $235,936, up 2.9% from $229,273.
In September, real estate agents in the two-county area combined to sell 818 houses, with a sales volume of $246,789. That’s up from 728 houses and $236,728 in September 2018.
Benton County reported 531 home sales worth a combined $137.09 million in September. That compares with 451 and $108.57 million in the same month a year ago.
In Washington County, agents sold 287 homes in September, up slightly from 277 homes last year, with a combined value of $64.77 million, up from $63.76 million.
