XNA fills new role for PR, marketing
Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) has hired Alex English as the airport’s public relations and marketing specialist. Her role is a new position for the Highfill airport.
“This position was created as part of the long-term goal to build out the business development team and for XNA to have a more focused approach to how we provide for our customers,” said Andrew Branch, chief business development officer for XNA. English will report directly to Branch.
“Alex brings a great combination of skills and education to XNA,” Branch said. “Her passion for customer service combined with her legal education make her ideally suited to help take XNA to the next level.”
English graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2018. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the UA in 2015. English was born in Little Rock and grew up in Frisco, Texas. After law school, she was government and community affairs director for Rausch Coleman Homes for about eight months.
English’s first day on the job was Aug. 19.
Some of her responsibilities include helping to develop marketing and advertising strategies, communicating with the community and media, promoting the airport on social media and cultivating relationships with government representatives.
“We’re wanting to put XNA on the map a little bit more,” English said. “They haven’t had someone doing full-time social media and public relations, community engagement and things of that nature. So that’s why I’m here.
“We want to really engage our community and be an asset more for the region … and reach out to a larger audience for what we have going on at XNA as far as our flights and all the new flights we’re adding on. And we really want to be … the place where everybody goes to travel if they are flying.”
XNA has 52 full-time employees and 13 part-time employees.
