Fort Smith-based transportation company ArcBest, the parent company of less-than-truckload carrier ABF Freight, plans to open a 20,000-square-foot office in the former Ozark Natural Foods building in Fayetteville.

The new ArcBest location in the Evelyn Hills Shopping Center at 1554 N. College Ave. will replace an undersized office on Zion Road in Fayetteville and is expected to open in spring 2020 after renovations. It will provide additional space for the company’s operations in Northwest Arkansas. The company declined to say how many employees will work there or what departments will be based at the location. After the location opens next spring, it will be the company’s only office in Northwest Arkansas.

Real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield/Sage Partners of Rogers announced Wednesday (Aug. 14) that ArcBest will lease the space, which is owned by Ozark Natural Foods. Nearly 30,000 additional square feet of space is still available for lease. Ozark Food Cooperative Exchange on Oct. 12, 2018, acquired a former grocery store at 380 N. College Ave. for $3.6 million. Ozark Natural Foods plans to relocate there.

“It has been a pleasure to work with ArcBest and Ozark Natural Foods,” said Sterling Hamilton, associate of Cushman & Wakefield/Sage Partners. “This deal will strengthen Ozark Natural Foods as it finishes out its new location while ArcBest adds to the employment base in Fayetteville’s Midtown area.”

Kirk Elsass with Lindsey and Associates represented ArcBest in the lease agreement.
