Steak ’n Shake sale tops real estate deals at $2.4 million

Ward Properties LP of Hanford, Calif. made the most significant residential and commercial property transfer in Craighead County between April 15 and May 15, according to the Craighead County Assessor’s Office.

Ward Properties spent $2.4 million to buy the Steak ’n Shake restaurant and adjoining property. The deal was completed April 25.

Matthew and Melissa Haustein made the second most significant real estate purchase in the region during the period. They bought a house for $950,000 in Abernathy Lake Estates. The deal was completed May 10.

In the third largest real estate deal in the region, Jeanette Gatlin sold acreage and a residential house lot for $875,000 to Northeast Arkansas Properties. The deal was finalized May 2.
