Former Walmart executive Tracy Rosser joins Transplace as EVP of operations

Transplace, a third-party transportation management and logistics technology firm based in Frisco, Texas, has hired former Walmart Inc. executive Tracy Rosser as executive vice president of operations. Rosser will be responsible for “providing strategic leadership and direction for the company’s Transportation Management business unit,” according to a news release, and be based in Lowell. He will report directly to CEO Frank McGuigan.
“Transplace delivers extreme supply chain value through superior technology and services and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture,” McGuigan said in a statement. “Tracy’s strong leadership abilities and proven experience in leading multibillion-dollar, multi-facility operations at the national level will accelerate and enhance our ability to deliver innovative, best-in-the-industry logistics solutions to help our customers optimally manage their supply chains.”
Rosser spent 22 years at Walmart in Bentonville before leaving earlier this year. He most recently served as senior vice president of transportation and supply chain. His responsibilities included all domestic and global transportation, strategy, procurement, Walmart’s private fleet and last mile and supply chain services.
During his time at Walmart, according to the news release, Rosser directed enterprise transformation and process improvement, propelling Walmart to be recognized for its best-in-class supply chain operational and efficiency excellence. Rosser also held several other leadership positions while at Walmart, including senior vice president of store operations, vice president of transportation and director of transportation. Prior to joining Walmart, Rosser spent nine years in the truckload transportation industry holding positions in sales, marketing and operations.

In Northwest Arkansas, Transplace is based at 509 Enterprise Drive, just off Interstate 49 in Lowell, where it employs about 600 workers in approximately 80,000 square feet of office space.
The company is expected to move to a new $46 million building Rogers in 2021, which is expected to increase the number of workers to between 1,100 and 1,200, with an estimated $60 million in payroll.
