A nearly $2 million renovation of the former Cabela’s in Rogers reached a milestone Thursday (Aug. 31) with the installation of new exterior signage.

The new signage will prominently highlight iconic outdoor brands Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and Tracker boats.

The renovation will bring those brands together under one roof of a rebranded retail center called Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, creating an expanded boat center and marine and fishing centers. The plans represent the first significant retail location upgrade since Bass Pro Shops acquired Cabela’s this past fall.

A new two-story glass storefront to the right of the main entrance will flood natural light into the store, according to Bass Pro Shops, and help highlight the newly expanded boat center and marine and fishing centers.

In addition, the freshwater fishing department will expand the fishing footprint and assortment by 85%, the company said. Apparel sections will also expand space and assortment, growing nearly 40% larger than the current layout.

Renovations are expected to be completed later this year. They are taking place in stages to allow the store to remain open as the inprovements occur.

Kansas-based Crossland Construction Co. is leading the project with a building permit valued at $1.79 million.
