Benchmark Group announces David Kimball as new president
Rogers engineering and architectural firm Benchmark Group Inc. announced Friday (Feb. 2) a change in leadership.
Founder and president Paul Parks will transition to the role of board chairman, according to a news release. He’s being replaced by David P. Kimball, effective Feb. 12.
“I am excited to lead alongside a staff that cares for each other, and cares to do the job right,” Kimball said in a statement. “Our skilled and experienced team at Benchmark Group is dedicated to serve our clients and communities. Our vision is to build on our success in providing quality, efficient, and long-lasting designs.”
Kimball, 54, will report directly to Benchmark Group’s board of directors. He has been a mechanical engineer at the company for two decades and has more than 30 years of engineering experience.
Parks said Kimball’s direct experience in almost every area of Benchmark Group’s business, along with his extensive project experience and diverse technical skills, will serve to move the company forward.
“David’s acceptance of this position has further strengthened my confidence in BG’s continued success,” Parks said.
Parks started Benchmark Group — solely as an electrical engineering firm called Paul C. Parks Engineering — in 1978, working from his house. He and his wife, Janet, were the employees. It was renamed in 1987 to reflect an expanded range of services, from architectural design to mechanical and electrical engineering services. The firm also now offers interior design, fire protection and refrigeration engineering.
Benchmark Group employs 135 from its 120,000-SF headquarters at 1805 N. 2nd St. The company ranks second on the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s list of Largest Architectural & Engineering Firms.
