Fayetteville-based Backwoods Bumpers Custom Fabrication has merged with Springdale-based Chandler Truck Accessories. The merger will allow for the company to expand its manufacturing of their line of off-road aftermarket steel bumpers.

The new company will be Backwoods Adventure Mods. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

With the merger, Backwoods Bumpers Custom Fabrication moved from its original location in Fayetteville to the 65,000-square-foot production facility of Chandler Truck Accessories.

In 2007, Evan House started Backwoods Bumpers in his backyard. In 10 years, the company grew to four full-time employees, designing and creating accessories for most pickups, SUVs, Jeeps and vans.

“We’re very excited about this merger because we’ll now be able to utilize the cutting-edge production capabilities of Chandler Equipment,” House said. “But more importantly, this will allow us to meet the demand of our customers without sacrificing our reputation for handcrafted-quality and customization we’ve earned over the past decade.”

House said the move to the larger facility will allow for more growth and more employees.

Chandler CEO Chris Chandler said the merger “is in line with his vision for the company” and looks forward to what it will accomplish. “It was just a great fit, a no-brainer,” he said. “Evan and I share the same values as far as work ethic and standard of quality. I really believe this will be mutually beneficial to us both.”

In 2015, Chandler expanded his family-owned, industrial component manufacturer, Chandler Equipment Inc., to include Chandler Truck Accessories, which offers heavy-duty truck boxes for industrial fleet trucks.

The company will retain its Chandler Truck Accessories brand for the toolboxes, and Chandler Equipment will be the parent company for Backwoods Adventure Mods, which designs, fabricates and customizes bumpers and modifications for trucks, Jeeps, SUVs and vans. The company will provide aftermarket bumpers and modifications for dealerships and do-it-yourselfers.
