Representatives from John Brown University in Siloam Springs and NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville on Wednesday (May 3) signed an agreement to ensure a smooth transfer of courses between NWACC and JBU.

JBU is a private, four-year college based in Siloam Springs, and NWACC  is a public, two-year college in Bentonville.

“The articulation agreement is an excellent example of the power of private/public partnerships that make higher education in the U.S. the envy of the world,” Dr. Ed Ericson, JBU’s vice president for academic affairs, said in a JBU press release. “JBU looks forward to building on this agreement to establish a healthy and long-lasting partnership to allow students the opportunity to further their higher educational careers.”

The agreement will be reviewed and updated yearly, as JBU and NWACC add new programs and make updates, according to the press release.

“This partnership with John Brown University continues our relationship that greatly benefits NWACC students,” Dr. Ricky Tompkins, NWACC’s vice president of learning and chief academic officer, said in the release. “Our students have a strong desire to stay in Northwest Arkansas and JBU is a great option for many of them to continue their education and achieve their goals.”
