Wal-Mart makes three leadership changes in its tech division
Marc Lore, CEO of Walmart U.S. e-Commerce, has promoted three company insiders to new executive leadership roles under his revamped organization. The Wall Street Journal first reported Fiona Tan’s promotion to senior vice president of U.S. customer technology. Previously, she worked as vice president of engineering in the retailer’s international division.
Jaya Kolhatkar was promoted to senior vice president of Walmart’s global data and analytics platform. She joined WalmartLabs in 2013 as part of the Inkiru acquisition. Jae Evans was promoted to vice president of global technical engineering and operations with responsibilities over core infrastructure services.
Lore said recently at the ShopTalk Conference in Las Vegas that the new structure would align more executives toward improving customers’ shopping experience regardless of whether that’s online or in physical stores or a combination of both. He said it won’t happen overnight, but consumers will begin to see more convenient shopping options deployed with it’s mobile application.
