Linimon to lead office of donor relations and special events for UA Advancement
The University of Arkansas has hired Amy Linimon as director of donor relations and special events for its University Advancement division. She will work closely with alumni, friends, and benefactors to recognize achievements and organize events celebrating special occasions, both on campus and off, according to a news release.
Vice Chancellor Mark Power said Linimon will play an “increasingly important” role in Campaign Arkansas, the UA’s multi-year fundraising campaign aiming to raise $1 billion by June 30, 2020.
“I am really excited about this opportunity join Campaign Arkansas and work with so many people who care so much about the University of Arkansas,” Linimon said in the release. “This job really blends two things I am passionate about – expressing gratitude to donors and organizing events that help celebrate the important achievements in the campaign and on campus.”
Linimon, a Fort Smith native, Linimon most recently worked as a senior account executive for IMG Razorback Sports Properties, the multimedia rights holder for the UA athletic department. She previously spent six years with the Washington Regional Medical Foundation as the director of special events and director of development and external relations, and worked for five years as the vice president for resource development at United Way of Northwest Arkansas, where she planned and executed events with donors, volunteers and corporations.
Linimon, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 class in 2013, earned two bachelor’s degrees from the UA, one in political science and a combined English and communications degree. She also earned a master’s in political science from the University of Kansas.
