Three Arkansas trucking companies named in top 100 by industry magazine
Arkansas-based carriers ABF Freight, J.B. Hunt Transport Services and USA Truck were named as three of the 2016 Top 100 Truckers by Inbound Logistics magazine.
“The top truckers offer the diverse operational capabilities and experience to meet readers’ unique supply chain and logistics needs,” according to the magazine. Editor Felecia Stratton said Lowell-based J.B. Hunt was “recognized for consistently providing premium service, reliability and scalability as well as allowing shippers to operate efficiently and cost effectively.”
In a news release, John Roberts, president and CEO of J.B. Hunt, said “it is a great honor to receive this title from Inbound Logistics. With over 200 companies competing for this top 100 status, we are very grateful to be named among the top 100. J.B. Hunt constantly searches for innovative ways to be a leader in transportation and logistics, and our dedicated employees allow us to maintain such excellence.”
J.B. Hunt has a fleet of 12,936 tractors and vans, 108,233 trailers and 15,000 drivers, according to the magazine. ABF Freight, a subsidiary of Fort Smith-based ArcBest Corp., has a fleet of 4,211 tractors and vans, 20,965 trailers and 7,000 drivers. USA Truck of Van Buren has a fleet of 1,963 tractors and vans, 6,208 trailers and 2,223 drivers. ABF Freight and J.B. Hunt use electronic on-board recorders while USA Truck does not.
