After a year on the Presidential and Senate campaign trails, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, announced that Arkansas-based Impact Management Group’s Clint Reed would take over as his chief of staff.

Reed, a partner with public affairs and political firm Impact Management Group (IMG), had been on the road with Rubio throughout his presidential bid and managed his successful U.S. Senate re-election campaign. Reed will succeed Alberto Martinez, who will assume the role of senior advisor to Rubio.

“For over a year, I’ve gotten to know and work closely with Clint on my campaigns, including two in Florida,” said Rubio, who challenged for the Republican Presidential nomination. “He’s a superb manager who loves Florida, has earned my trust, and relishes the challenge of solving tough problems.”

“The next six years will undoubtedly present many challenges but also incredible opportunities to make an even bigger difference in the lives of Floridians and people throughout the country, and I’m excited to be surrounded with a team of devoted professionals who are passionate about public service,” Rubio added.

The announcement was first reported by Politico.

“Clint is one of the most talented political operatives in America,” said Terry Benham, IMG’s Managing Partner. “Being tapped as the Chief of Staff to one of the most influential Members of Congress is a testament to his talent and I’m certain he will be a solid asset to Sen. Rubio. We are obviously disappointed to see Clint leave the firm, but we are happy for his success and wish him the very best.”

Reed has been a Partner at IMG since 2009. Prior to joining the firm he served as Regional Political Director at the Republican National Committee and is responsible for many of the legislative gains the Republican Party has made in Arkansas.

“It’s an honor to have been a part of the Impact Management Group family for the last eight years,” said Reed. “I truly believe we have built the best political and public affairs firm in Arkansas and one of the very best in the South. I’m grateful for this call to public service, but I will always appreciate the lifelong friendships I’ve developed within our firm.”
