USA Truck announces shift in sales operation
Van Buren-based USA Truck announced Tuesday (Nov. 29) a reorganization of its sales operations “to better align with its diverse customer base and a highly dynamic marketplace.”
The company employs 22 in the sales division who manage national and local accounts. The change will separate the employees from the company’s truck divisions to free them up to sell services beyond trucking.
“This reorganization will ensure that customers benefit from the entire portfolio available from both our asset and asset-light operations,” USA Truck President and CEO Randy Rogers said in the statement. “The unified sales team will offer comprehensive and innovative solutions that meet the unique and frequently changing challenges confronting our customers in today’s fluid market.”
Jim Craig, president of Logistics, will take on the responsibility for leading the day-to-day sales activities of the now integrated sales organization. Sales employees will be divided into two geographic areas, and a third team will focus on sales with USAT Logistics.
USA Truck manages the shipment of goods using its own assets through a freight network. The company also handles freight on a dedicated contract basis. USAT Logistics, the company’s asset-light group, utilizes multiple modes of transportation as a traditional third-party logistics provider.
