Malco theaters in Rogers, Fayetteville and Fort Smith to add reclined seating, cocktail service
Malco Theatres Inc. will renovate several of its movie theater locations in Northwest Arkansas to add reclined VIP seating with side tables, a cocktail bar and an expanded dining menu, the Memphis-based company announced Tuesday (Nov. 15).
Construction is planned to start early next year at the Rogers Towne Cinema, the Razorback Cinema in Fayetteville and Fort Smith Cinema. The work should take about three months to complete, according to a press release.
New features will include bars that serve beer, wine and mixed drinks, in addition to expanded kitchens, equipped with new grills, ovens and deep fryers in order to accommodate a menu that offers “gourmet quick-casual selections,” according to the release.
”We are excited to bring these new amenities to our theaters in Northwest Arkansas,” Jimmy Tashie, Malco’s senior executive vice president of operations, said in the release.
“Our emphasis has always been on quality, and we have always stressed the importance of staying ahead of the curve in sight and sound technology. Now, we’ll be adding another layer of excellence by increasing the seating comfort for our patrons,” Tashie said.
Malco is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business with 350 screens and 34 theaters across the South.
The theaters will remain open during the renovation, said Karen Scott Malco’s director of marketing.
