Mary Ann Greenwood garners national economics honor
Dr. Mary Ann Greenwood, a financial advisor in Fayetteville, was named a Fellow of the National Association of Business Economics (NABE).
The announcement was made last month at the organization’s annual meeting in Atlanta. Greenwood joins a distinguished group of economists and investors, including past chairmen of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve Paul Volcker, Alan Greenspan, and Ben Bernanke along with Fed Chair Janet Yellen who are all fellows.
Criteria for selection includes: performance of outstanding service as a professional business economist, professional contributions to the field of business economics and contributions to NABE.
Greenwood says she’s honored to be recognized as a NABE Fellow and “Joining such a distinguished group of previous honorees is humbling and a professional accomplishment,” she added.
She founded the investment advisory firm Greenwood & Associates (now Greenwood Gearhart) in 1982. Greenwood helped to found and grow annual University of Arkansas Walton College of Business Forecast Luncheon, an economic event focused on the global, domestic, and regional economies. She is married to University of Arkansas Dean Emeritus of Education and Health Professions Reed Greenwood.
