Gupta speaks at Arkansas Children’s Hospital event
Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN chief medical correspondent and a practicing neurosurgeon, was the keynote speaker for the 2016 Anne Hickman Lectureship at the Statehouse Convention Center Tuesday.
According to a press release from Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Gupta discussed the intersection of medicine and media and how it affects pediatric healthcare issues.
The Anne Hickman Lectureship was established in 1995 in honor of Hickman, the first woman elected to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital board of directors, where she served from 1994 until her death in 2014. She also was president of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary and chaired a $15 million campaign to build the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute.
