Joey Lauren Adams to appear at third annual El Dorado Film Festival

The third annual El Dorado Film Festival is set for Sept. 15-18 in El Dorado, Ark. This year’s festivities will feature celebrity judge and Arkansas native Joey Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy, Dazed and Confused).

There will be screenings of 56 films from 14 different countries in categories that include Feature Films, International Short Films, Oxford American Southern Made Short Films, Arkansas Made Short Films, and Louisiana Film Prize Top 5 Special Showcase.

The Oxford American Southern Made category is new this year and will highlight only films that are made in southern states. Adams will serve as judge for this category and present the award on Sept. 18 from the Southern Arkansas Arts Center.

The rest of the event will be hosted on three of six screens at Stars Cinema 6. Beer and wine will be served to patrons of the Festival only.

The 2015 Festival selected winners in 12 categories including “Best of Fest,” “Best Feature Film, Best Dramatic Short, Best Comedic Short, Best Southern Made, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, and Road to El Dorado Award for Best Foreign Film. Best Feature Film went to Kim Swink for Valley Inn.
