The 28th Annual Small Works on Paper visual art exhibition is returning to the Delta Cultural Center in Helena, Ark., on Saturday (July 9) and will run through August 27.

SWOP showcases artwork no larger than 18 x 24 inches, each from a member of the Arkansas Artist Registry, which is an online gallery showcasing the artwork of Arkansas artists. Membership to AAR is free and open to any in-state artist.

The Small Works on Paper exhibition travels to 10 statewide venues in a yearlong show that offers AAR members an opportunity to showcase their work to patrons all over the state. An out-of-state juror selects a maximum of 40 pieces of artwork to tour with the exhibition.

Up to $2,000 is available for juror-selected purchase awards, which become part of the Small Works on Paper permanent collection.

The Delta Cultural Center, located in historic downtown Helena, is a museum dedicated to the history of the Arkansas Delta. The museum interprets the heritage of the 27 county Delta region through exhibits, educational programs, annual events, and guided tours.

Starting out as a grassroots effort, the DCC has been in operation since 1990. Since then the Center has expanded to include a number of facilities and historic structures as well as several acres of land, all Helena-based. The Center serves as a resource and a local, regional, national and even international destination.
