2nd Annual Eureka Springs Indie Film Fest set to begin Aug. 5
The 2nd Annual Eureka Springs Indie Film Fest (ESIFF) will be a two-day event starting Aug. 5 from the Auditorium at 36 South Main Street. The festival includes student films, short form or feature length documentaries, LGBT voices, and women in film. Awards will be given in the categories of Student Films and Documentaries.
A Friday night preview party will include a food and wine reception followed by a special screening of Jeff Boyette’s film Not Without Us. The reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the site. Screenings will be held on Saturday (Aug. 6) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Award Show starts at 5:30 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.
This film fest is funded in part by a special grant from the Arkansas Parks & Tourism Department and The Walton Foundation. A “secondary mission” of the ESIFF will be to allow filmmakers and fans to “schmooze, learn and network” against the backdrop of Eureka Springs, while placing special focus on innovative women in film, young filmmakers, made-on-mobile and Human Rights documentaries and films.
ESIFF places an emphasis on Arkansas-based filmmakers, but is also open to filmmakers from out-of-state. The official lineup of films has not been released as of July 18, but interested parties can track future announcements from this link.
