Walmart.com marketing chief exits the company
Brian Monahan, the head of marketing for Walmart’s U.S. online business, exited the company April 1, after three years to return to NewCo, a company he co-founded in 2012.
“We’re thankful for the great contributions Brian made to the business and wish him the best with NewCo. We’re in the process of identifying a successor,” Wal-Mart spokesman Dan Toporek said.
Monahan said he felt compelled to dive back in and help the management team at NewCo, a media service company. His role there will be chief evangelist.
He joined Wal-Mart in 2013 as vice president of marketing for the website. In that role he was in charge of the overall online marketing strategy. The management over the marketing division changed hands earlier this year when Tony Rogers replaced Stephen Quinn as chief marketing officer.
