WARREN STEPHENS CELEBRATES 30 YEARS AT THE HELM
On Feb. 18, Stephens Inc. Chairman and CEO Warren Stephens celebrated his 30th year at the helm of the renowned investment banking and private equity firm that bears his family’s name. The Little Rock-based global company has grown from around 100 employees to an even more diversified firm of nearly 900 workers in 2016. He became CEO at age 29 on Feb. 18, 1986.

DELTIC TIMBER UPS STOCK BUYBACK PROGRAM BY $20 MILLION
Deltic Timber Corp.’s board of directors has authorized the management team of the Arkansas timberland owner to expand the company’s stock buyback program by $20 million. This authorization comes as Deltic has now repurchased stock in an amount representing over 90% of the company’s current $60 million program. Repurchases may be made from time to time in the open market at prevailing market prices or in private transactions in accordance with all applicable securities laws and regulations.

Deltic reports its fourth quarter and yearly earnings report on Thursday (Feb. 25). At the end of last week’s trading session, Deltic’s shares closed up $1.32 at $58.10, up 2.3%.

SEC TO HOLD ADVISORY MEETING ON PRIVATELY HELD, PUBLIC COMPANIES WITH LESS THAN $250 MARKET CAP
The Securities and Exchange Commission will hold its Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies on Feb. 25 where it will examine the capital formation landscape for those firms, including data on capital raised in unregistered securities offerings. The advisory committee provides a formal mechanism for the SEC to receive advice and recommendations on privately held small businesses and publicly traded companies with a market capitalization less than $250 million.
