Former White House Chief of Staff joins Energy Security Partners board
Last week, Talk Business & Politics reported on a $3.7 billion potential liquids-to-gas (LTG) project that could locate in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Energy Security Partners, led by Arkansans Ret. General Wesley Clark and former Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater, is the firm behind the project. In addition to an all-star line-up of respected energy industry executives, ESP has added a new name on Monday to its board of directors.
Former George W. Bush chief of staff Andrew H. Card, Jr. will join the board effective April 1, 2016.
Card is currently serving as the president of Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire. Prior to Franklin Pierce, he served as acting dean of the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Andy to our Board. Andy brings such a diverse amount of knowledge and experience to ESP. In addition to his vast transportation sector expertise, Andy has an outstanding track record of achieving results across corporate, academic and government sectors,” said Slater.
Card has also served in positions with Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, including as Secretary of Transportation.
In the private sector, Card served as General Motors’ vice president of government relations where he directed the company’s international, national, state and local government affairs activities and represented GM on matters of public policy before Congress.
