Poultry Federation President Marvin Childers picked to lead national group
The Poultry Federation President Marvin Childers was elected to serve as President of the State Poultry Executives Association during the organization’s annual meeting at the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Ga. last week.
The State Poultry Executives Association is comprised of poultry leaders from 26 poultry and egg producing states across the country. Childers will serve a two-year term as president. He served as Vice-President of the organization in 2014 and 2015 and has been an active member for nine years.
“I am honored to be selected as the association’s president, and I look forward to working with my colleagues who are dedicated individuals working hard to promote and protect the poultry industry, not only in the U.S., but around the world,” said Childers.
Childers is currently the President of The Poultry Federation, working in this capacity since Jan. 2007. He served as an Arkansas State Representative from 2001 to 2006 and previously practiced law with Friday, Eldredge and Clark. Before joining the Friday law firm, he was a partner with Burrow, Harlan and Childers in Blytheville, Ark.
Childers holds a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Mississippi and a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He is a member of the Arkansas, Missouri and Pulaski County Bar Associations.
The Poultry Federation is a tristate trade association representing the poultry and egg industry in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Companies involved in the production and processing of poultry provide 1,814,200 jobs throughout the country that pay $100.2 billion in wages, generate over $469.6 billion in annual economic impact and approximately $32.9 billion in tax revenue.
