Carty appointed to The Kays Foundation
The Kays Foundation announced Friday (Jan. 15) the appointment of Terry Carty of Jonesboro as executive vice president/treasurer.
Carty succeeds the late Wayne Blake, who served in the same position for 14 years before his sudden death in November. Blake served on the board for almost 20 years, and was an employee of the foundation for 39 years.
Carty, who received his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from ASU in 1974, retired from Arkansas State University in 2011, where he was construction coordinator in facilities management. He joined the Kays Foundation board in 2011.
Among the highlights of his ASU career, Carty received the Distinguished Performance Award in 2010, professional/non-faculty category, and he was one of 100 individuals selected for recognition on the Staff Wall of Honor as part of the university centennial celebration. He also served as a member of the restoration team for the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center at Piggott.
The Arkansas State College Foundation for the Advancement of Higher Education, which does business as Kays Foundation, evolved from a charitable entity founded by V.C. Kays, the first president of the institution.
Kays Foundation makes grants and funding available to help the university meet its teaching, research and service goals.
